the kingfisher is back!

i am breathdeep in blue air and skinsharp light

october is a too-fast walk

all energy and small wonders arriving

daily

vanishing the next….

fiercely brief and brilliant

wild flowers

slow down, slow down, stand still

i close my eyes and the sun is

a bloodred waratah, beating fiercely

behind my eyelids

i lie down on the warming ground

all is energy and light

flickering

i wonder if i will ever burn as brightly as

this
